This is the logo for the Watauga County Humane Society. When I first heard of "Watauga Humane Society," I assumed that it was an organization that was devoted to the people of Boone, not necessarily animals as well. Upon looking up their website, I discovered that they were in fact an animal adoption agency, not concerning people at all. One of the big giveaways was their logo, which features outlines of a dog and a cat head. As a big supporter of adopting animals, I'm glad to see that their logo embodies both the elements that the define the area (outlines of the mountainous terrain) and their main objective which is to find homes for animals that need them. Overall I feel as though the logo is effective in portraying their goals for the region to those who view it, and possibly changing preconceived notions of what other people may have thought the organization stood for.
