This is an image of the recycle bin from the Roess Dining Hall. The chart above the bin uses contrast between the bright blue foreground and the white background to create something that is both easy to read and eye-catching. By using easy to read text and simple imagery, it is capable of providing the viewer with an understanding of which materials belong in this bin and which should be placed in a landfill instead. By making the process of recycling an almost mindless task, this signage allows ASU to significantly reduce the amount of waste that ends up in the surrounding landfills, which is a huge benefit for our environment.
