The Salvation Army is a Protestant Christian church and an international charitable organization. They help those who have been devastated by natural disasters, provide meals through food pantries, provide housing for those below the poverty line, fight human trafficking, assist the unemployed, serve veterans, and much more. The Red Shield is a symbol that represents the shield they provide to people in need of help. I like the shield and typography used in the logo and find it to be a powerful symbol. The only connection that I have with the Salvation Army is that I used to volunteer for them around Christmas when I was in NHS in high school.
