Miranda Glyder- #identity

TokyoPop’s logo is an iconic symbol in pop culture, especially for those who read manga. TokyoPop is a publishing company that is responsible for bringing manga series such as Fruits Basket to English readers. Their printed logo, located on the spines of many classic manga series, has always been able to catch the eye of those who view it. Rather than using letters to represent their brand like most other companies, they use a cartoon-like character. By doing this, TokyoPop creates a physical connection between the products they sell and their logo. Every time I see this symbol, I feel happy because I associate this symbol with many of the amazing series, they have published which I loved. In fact, Fruits Basket was the very first manga series I have ever read. This is what got me interested in Japanese comics and Japanese culture, leading me to become interested in being an artist.
