A graph based on data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics demonstrates the gender pay gap between men and women of all ages. The x-axis represents age and the y-axis is median weekly earnings. The graph presents the statistics in an easy visualize manner that effectively shows that men continuously get higher pay. By using blue dots with the male sign and pink dots with the female signs it helps viewers understand which gender each dot represents. By placing the dots on a graph, it shows how pay increases as people age while also showing how there is a continuous discrepancy between genders. The numbers next to the dots represent the average amount of pay each gender and age receive each week. These numbers help reinforce that the amount of money that results from this pay gap. As a woman these results are scary, and they make me aware that I should speak out and fight for equal wages. I think it is important that if a man and a woman do the same amount of work in the same profession, they should be paid the same and have an equal chance for promotion. #DesignForSocialGood
