#16 Chloe Thompson- Typography

I really enjoy looking at typography posters, and this is one I am really drawn too! The poster is presenting an exhibition by typographer and designer of the typeface Bodoni, Giambattista. A really cool letter form in the Bodoni set is the 'j' so it was really smart of the designer to chose that letter. The way that the letters create negative space when they overlap is an element that adds depth and space. The color choice is also really reflective of his work as the color purple symbolizes things like royalty, power, ambition, and creativity. His typefaces are classics which is why I think that it fits with the color and it's symbolic meaning. The design reminds me of leaves and branches hanging from a tree which is just an extra observation!
