After a bit of research, I've learned more about Porsche's logo. First created in the 1950's, this logo has stayed relatively the same, giving it a long history of recognition. The main symbol is based on the coat of arms of Stuggart, Germany, (where Porsche headquarters is currently located and where Porsche's vehicles were first manufactured) which has been combined with the coat of arms of the German state of Württemberg. Additionally, they added the name of their brand to the top of the symbol, as well as under the symbol in their trademark typeface. I used to work as a valet, so to me personally, I was excited when I saw a vehicle pull up with this logo because I knew I was about to get to drive a nice car. In its long history, it has become very recognizable, so since it hasn't been altered too much I'd say its an effective identifier of Porsche.
