Paula Scher created a large-scaled mural at Planned Parenthood’s headquarter in New York. The mural illustrates the Planned Parenthood’s history from its founding until recent times and is made up of newspaper articles, instructional posters, protest graphics, and brightly colored images. The organization has served to fight for women's rights and health. The mural has a collage and pop art feel to it with its mix of brightly colored typography, photographs, and graphics. The piece is very well-designed because it has an empowering feeling to it and people become involved and encircled by the mural as they enter the space it encompasses. Every direction you turn there is something exciting and motivating. The images of this mural do not do it justice. I am sure if one visits it in person there are a lot of details that would be more visible in person than in the photo and the articles would be easier to read up close.
