“Worldometers” is a website that keeps track of the world's population and lists the number of births, deaths, and population growth that occurs each day and within a year. In the middle of the homepage is a list of the twenty most populated countries. By clicking on the country, you can find the country’s total population, several graphs showing population growth and rate (%) since 1960, and facts including the population density by kilometer of land, average age of the country, fertility rate, and so on. The website has many graphs that are easy to read. The information is concise and is written in a sans serif font that helps the viewer's eye flow from one line to the next with ease. The hyperlinks are easy to spot since they are displayed in green with underlines allowing readers to know when links to outside sources are being supplied. While the layout of the website is simple, the designer is aware of the importance of maintaining reliability and how graphs and charts that are clearly labeled and do not exaggerate the data can help its credibility and maintain the reader’s attention span. People nowadays want to be able to read information quickly and this website’s design layout with its clear labels and concise data gives them that. I have used this website in several research papers and the design layout makes it easy to find the data I needed without having to read through mountains of useless facts. The organization and layout of the website is simple, but because it works so well the website designer is aware of what does and do not work in good design.
