This is the book cover for one of the textbooks that is used in my Typography class. There is a lot about this cover that works well from a design perspective. For example, the descenders of the P in type and the P in primer match us in a pleasing way, and The authors name, John Kane, creates the stem of the i. The solid bright red cover and simplicity of the type that is on it is very eye catching compared to the other textbooks I got this semester. Many textbooks covers are cluttered with pictures and meaningless stock images, but this one relates to many of the exercises mentioned in the book. Moving text around to reinforce the meaning of it is something that is not done often enough.
