This infographic uses different sized circles to show and compare the carbon emmissions by nation. The circles all come together to make a footprint, relating the graphic back to the concept of the carbon footprint. The nations are colored according to region, and the message of this graphic is quite clear: the United States and china produce more carbon emissions than any other nation. However, there are a few things about this design that could be improved. For example, more information could be given. we do not know exactly how much carbon is being put out by each nation- we only have the sizes to compare them by. We also do not know where that data came from- how long was data collected before it was turned into this graphic? While the idea and concept of this graphic both work very well and the layout is clever, from an information perspective a few things could be changed. The message is clear- we as a nation (and china as well) could do more to reduce our carbon emissions. The image of the footprint is also quite eye-catching.
