The instructions that come with lego sets are an excellent example of information design. They are simple, include clear, numbered steps, are are comprised of exclusively images, which is good for children who are not proficient at reading or speak another language besides English. It can be easily understood, and the step by step instructions allow the reader to follow along and complete the project efficiently. I remember being young and being able to understand and build complex sets from these images, if they had been blocks of text I probably would have never even tried to follow them.
