This is a sign outside of the elevator in my dorms common area. It provides information, both through text and images, about what to do if there is ever a fire in the building. I believe that someone who does not speak English fluently would be able to understand what this sign is trying to say from the symbols. The red markings clearly indicate fire, while the symbols warn you to not attempt to use the elevator in any way, and that it is better to take the stairs in the event of an emergency. The words are also in a clear bold font that can be read easily and quickly. The sign itself appears authoritative and trustworthy.
