The brand was invented by Alexander Liepa in 1968 and began to be sold across America in the mid 1970's. The name was picked out of a Cincinnati telephone directory. They saw "Pringle Avenue" in Finneytown, Ohio, and liked the sound of "Pringle". The logo has had several modifications but has always features a cartoon caricature of a male figure with a large mustache, a red bow, and parted bangs, known as "Julius Pringles". The logo from 2008 uses a font called Bodega Sans Medium designed by Greg Thompson. The only connection that I have with pringles is that... I eat them. I like the logo and like that the shape of the head mates the shape of the chip.
