39. Michala Grant: Wildcard

For my last post, I wanted to post a design that I really like. This is a poster advertising for a graphic design museum in the Netherlands. In the center, the poster has what most would recognize as a number 4. At the top of the poster it says "This is a: broken letter H, chair upside down, [or] number 4." The designer really makes you think about what symbols, shapes, and likes could be and that's why I like this design. When seeing it, it makes the viewer think about how it could be any of these things even though they probably had their own idea of what was in the middle of the poster. At the bottom of the poster, in smaller font, the name of the museum, location of the museum, and their website is listed. I think that it is fine that the museum name is so small because after seeing the poster, I think most people would be inclined to look at the smaller text to see what the poster was about. The museum has a series of advertisement posters like this and I think that this is a really cool design.
