This podium was designed for an event called Platform/15 which aims to build networks among minority entrepreneurs and innovators in technology. Eddie Opara led a team of designers to come up with effective ways to direct attendees around the campus that could be placed around the pathways, and ended up with this design. The map that tops the podium has clear directions, white font to contrast the dark black podium, and has illuminated text as well for added clarity. I had heard of this event before and I plan on hopefully attending one day, so when I found these directional designs I was intrigued. I believe that the height of the podium, along with the different aspects that allow the map to be clear and readable, makes this an effective design that could definitely be used for future events.
