This is a public installation that aims to bring awareness to victims of HIV and AIDS. On the outside of the structures are silhouettes of everyday people, and inside the yellow openings are their stories about how the disease has impacted their lives. This installation hopes to cure the stigma about HIV victims being unclean and contagious and let others know that they're just average people. One of my family members has HIV and knowing what they've been through and the perceptions people have of them, I'm happy to see that there are organizations trying to create a positive narrative surrounding the disease. I think that this is an effective design because it appeals to the emotions and isn't "in your face," but also isn't too subtle.
