I enjoy the look of this design by Gimlet Creative for Blue Apron's eating healthier initiative. I found this on a recipe website the other day while searching for something I could make for dinner, and I believe this was an advertisement. The colorfully flat-illustrated images of food, tools, and utensils stand out among the large white text which reads, "Why We Eat What We Eat." Unfortunately, I think that the words fall to the background as the images are more attractive, and I can feel my attention falling solely on the images while skimming the words. The wording is also vague in a sense. If I hadn't chosen to use this design for one of my encounters, I don't believe that I would've clicked on it to see that it's actually part of a health initiative. I would've assumed that it was some study on eating habits. While the word placement appears to be carefully considered, I just feel as though the illustrations take the main attention away, which leads to an ineffective typographic design.
