Alex Pillow #typography 37

This brand of coffee has always grabbed my attention with their packaging. It's interesting to me in a number of ways, from the gold and black packaging to the contrasting typefaces. Largest on the bag is the brand name "Peet's" which appears to be either handwritten or some kind of informal script font, with "coffee" in a grotesque-type sans serif font. "Coffee" seems so modern and clean, while "Peet's" appears to be fun and carefree. I'm not sure why this was done, but it works oddly enough and I can't put my finger on a particular reason why. Under the brand name is the kind of roast and the variety of coffee grounds, with a terse, vivid description of the flavor. There isn't an overload of information which allows each section of information to be separate, yet cohesive.
