When my roommate turned 21, one of his favorite things to do was to go to local breweries and see if they had any aluminum storefront signs that they were willing to sell. This sign, from Highland Brewing in Asheville, is his favorite (and mine as well). As I have stated before, I'm not typically a fan of curved text, but a sign of this size doesn't have to worry about words being hard to read. The format of the sign stays true with basic hierarchy as well. The name of the brewery posted on the top where your eyes first go, the founding location on the bottom to see next, and the date of establishment split between the left and the right in a different size and color as it is the least important piece of information being displayed. The white and yellow colors of the type contrast well against the deep burgundy adding to the visibility, especially when driving by. All of these elements come together well to create an effective design typographically and in general.
