This is the logo for Instagram and what shows up when you have the app downloaded onto a device. I've been using Instagram as a platform to share my life and art for years since I was around thirteen. The logo was once brown and looked more like a traditional Polaroid camera but changed a little over 2 years ago to this more colorful and brighter version of a simplified camera. The design is used to give a brief insight into what the app is about, by making the logo resemble a camera it lets the consumer know the app involves taking pictures and sharing them with other people. Instagram is a platform I enjoy using and is a way for me to share the art I make and bits of my life I want friends and some family members to see. To me, the new logo is a bit too simplified and I felt like the old one that was more detailed and more closely resembling the camera was more effective and matched the aesthetic of the app well. I believe the old logo was better and that this logo is oversimplified with colors that really do not correlate with the app itself. I also don't think they had any reason to change it in the first place since no one was really complaining about it, however, I understand they wanted their app to stand out more with brighter eye-catching colors and a simpler design that could be more universal.
