This is an example of how typography is used in an environment that helps direct people to the correct places they need to be for their flights. They're placed strategically over the moving sidewalk so that people can see where the different gates are while they are on it. I've been in an airport and have flown before so I have been on a moving sidewalk myself and witnessed how the signs for the gates are over them and are bright yellow to catch your eye. It's a very plain font but it's practical and catches peoples attention along with the arrows attached to these signs help show the direction of the gate they are looking for.
