This is the store sign for the shop Dancing Moon Earth Way Bookstore, located here in Boone on King St. Dancing Moon is one of my favorite stores to visit due to its homey feel and the wide variety of organic soaps, teas, handmade candles and local art within the store along with its welcoming nature to all religions and walks of life. The sign for Dancing Moon caught my eye and immediately drew me into the store due to the beautiful blue and white gradient and the famous iconography on it. The moon and stars are very distinct symbols to every and the depiction of the moon with a face is something a lot of people associate with spirituality and if you're someone like me then you associate it with witchcraft and magic. I think the sign does a great job at hinting to people passing by what it contains within its walls and draws in people interested in spirituality and locally owned businesses (a thing a lot of people in Boone like to support.) The angle this picture is taken at makes it a bit hard to read what is underneath the words dancing moon so that might be my one issue with the design. From certain angles and distances, it's hard to read that text because it is white on top of white and light blue. So maybe the font underneath to be changed to the blue of the gradient up top so that the text colors reflect each other which could create a visual conversation. Or maybe the words could be outlined in a darker color like the dark blue to make them stand out more which would also create more visual interest.
