Post 30 -

This is a sign that is usually around city-owned ponds or other ponds that are open to the public which contains ducks. We have several of these signs at the city lake in my hometown because of the diseases it can cause for ducks along with how it can damage the quality of the water they are living in and the ecosystem of the pond. A lot of local ponds now include feeders that contain food that is specifically made for ducks that will not harm them in the hopes that the public will use them instead of feeding the ducks bread. The feeders usually have these signs on them as well and it cost 25 cents to get a handful of the food to feed the ducks, similar to a quarter machine you'd see in a grocery store. I think this sign helps promote the awareness of the effect bread can have on ducks and the ecosystem they live it because they use the word "kill". Death of the waterfowl, of course, is the most extreme outcome of the ducks getting sick from what they're being fed but it grabs the attention of people passing by and helps them be more aware that what some people are doing could potentially harm the little guys that we all love to come to see. I think this fits well into the design for social good because of what it's promoting and how it's helping ducks all around the country that are at risk of bread caused diseases.
