I decided to use the logo for Tostitos tortilla chips for this week's identity design. The reason I chose this design was that there's a clever hidden message in the logo that I discovered once and haven't been able to un-see since. The message is found between "tos" and "os", where the 't's act as human figures holding a yellow triangle, representing a tortilla chip, and the tittle of the 'i' is colored red and shaped as a bowl, resembling a bowl full of salsa. I believe that this message intended to show how their chips are good for parties and sharing with others, and it is quite well in doing so. Now that I think of it, most parties and get-togethers I go to usually have a bowl of salsa and Tostitos tortilla chips.
